Inside Higher Education – Just as American Anthropological Association members have started voting on a resolution “to boycott Israeli academic institutions,” a law firm has threatened to sue. Lori Lowenthal Marcus, legal director for the Deborah Project,  wrote to the association’s executive director, saying the firm has clients who are part of the association and are “deeply concerned about the association’s proposed resolution endorsing Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) against Israel.”

Algemeiner – The US Department of Education Office for Civil Rights (OCR) is investigating State University of New York (SUNY) New Paltz to determine whether it refused to intervene when Jewish students were expelled from a campus group for being Zionists, according to lawyers representing the students.

Jewish Link – A Westfield Board of Education member, who is being investigated by the New Jersey School Ethics Commission over her alleged antisemitic actions, has lost her position as board vice president.

Jewish Journal – The Deborah Project asked the Superior Court in Alameda County to compel Hayward Unified School District to answer the Public Record requests that were sent months ago—requests they’ve completely ignored.

The Daily Californian – The Louis D. Brandeis Center for Human Rights Under Law filed a lawsuit alleging that campus had failed to fulfill its legal responsibilities to make its records “promptly available” for public review, following three CPRA requests for access to documents relating to antisemitism and Zionism.

Los Angeles Times – A federal civil rights complaint accuses UC Berkeley of an “act of discrimination against the Jewish community” by allowing law school student groups to adopt bylaws refusing to invite speakers who support Zionism.
